IPC 7711/7721 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) Rework/Repair and Modification Recertification Program
The CIS class is modularized to allow you to choose only the classes your company needs. This is a hands-on course. Module one is mandatory and consists of Common procedures. Modules 2-9 consist of; wire splicing procedures, through hole component removal and installation, chip and MELF rework procedures, rework of SOIC/SOT components, J-lead and QFP rework, printed wiring board circuit and laminate repair, conformal coating removal.
IPC 7711/7721 Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) Certification Program
This class provides skill-based training regarding rework, repair and modification procedures as covered in the IPC-7711 and IPC-7721 documents. CIT's are qualified to teach Certified IPC Applicaiton Specialist (CIS) training and certification programs.
J-STD-001 Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) Certification (Space Addendum Included)
This class provides skill-based training regarding soldering practices and processes as covered in the J-STD-001 and its companion documents. CITs are qualified to teach Certified IPC Application Specialist (CIS) training and certification programs. This course also provides the Space Addendum, addressing additional requirements that are required to ensure the reliability of soldered electrical and electronic assemblies that must survive the vibration and thermal cyclic environments getting to and operating in space.
J-STD-001 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) Recertification Modules 1-6 (Space Addendum Included)
The CIS program is modularized to allow for maximum flexibility in meeting individuals training needs. Module 1 is an introduction to the process requirements of J-STD-001, Module 2 focuses on wires and terminals, Module 3 emphasizes through-hole technology and Module 4 emphasizes surface mount technology. Module 5 focuses on inspection, inspection methodology, and process control. Modules 2-5 include a hands-on training exercise. Module 6 focuses on the J-STD-001 Space Electronics Hardware Addendum. Module 6 consists of 4 classroom hours.

Wave Solder 101
Wave solder classes are conducted with emphasis on process control and heat management. In this comprehensive hands on course, the student will learn how to correctly and safely set up the wave solder machine, establish correct parameters for the PWB’s to be soldered, and perform preventative maintenance. Solder defects and causes will be discussed in great detail.

ESD Awareness and Prevention
The trainee will receive lecture and demonstrations on causes and effects of static electricity, electrostatic discharge and electrical overstress. Proper handling procedures for electronic assemblies and methods of preventing electrostatic discharge damage will also be discussed. Students will receive a certificate of completion from STI.
